I am a gender expert with 19 years’ international experience in the development and humanitarian sector working as frontline staff and in offering technical support to country programs including on GBViE, (designing GBV prevention and response programming for GBV in an emergency and technical oversight); women’s movement building, women’s rights advocacy & socio-economic empowerment; young women in leadership, among others. I am currently working at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) as a Senior Technical Advisor, supporting the global work on participation and women’s movement building at IRC. Previously, she worked as Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) Technical advisor for the Horn and East Africa countries Uganda, South Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Zimbabwe), and worked with different development and humanitarian organizations in different capacities. I have a master’s degree in Gender and Development, a Master’s in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid, and a BA in Sociology. Outside of my formal professional work, I thrive in mentoring young women, girls, and boys to reach their full potential. I am a mum, an auntie, a sister, a daughter, a friend… and many others in no order. I am also a member of the Toastmasters International (SEMA TM club), Rotary international (Rotary Club of Nairobi East) among others.
